Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
#1
Not wanting to sound like a broken record, whitebass fishing is still
excellent. Most of the fish are still being caught on the bottom with
jigging spoons and inline spinners. Some fish are hitting a jig and two
inch curly tail by casting and vertical jigging. The whites are jumping
early and late in the day. This is providing some very fast action, if not
the most productive. Smallmouth have slowed considerably this week.
Last week the smalleys were hitting jig/pork and Carolina rigged
worms well on Kentucky Lake. They seem to be hitting better at night
this week with the big moon. Catfish are good below both dams on
cutbait and nightcrawlers. Most are being caught bottom bouncing at
the edge of the strong current areas. Largemouth seem better on Lake
Barkley, but are fair at best. Some crappie fishermen are catching
some nice crappie but not large numbers. Bluegill is fair to good early
and late on crickets and nightcrawlers. Most are caught along the
docks and deep banks.

TIP: When the whitebass are in the jumps try not to troll are run your
big motor into them. This sends them back down. Move to the fish
with the trolling motor.

BITS AND PIECES: Attitude is a little thing that makes a big
difference.

www.kentuckylakebarkley.com
