Battery Maintenance
#1
OK... so I picked up a new deep cycle battery this past spring for the trolling motor. Now that I'm done with the boat for the year I have a storage question.

How do you store your battery for winter? Store it fully charged, drained down to nothing or someplace in between? Does it matter?

Also, should I be doing anything to the trolling motor before I stick in the shed for the winter?

Thanks,
Mike

not on the concrete floor if you must on the floor put a peice of wood down, plastic is eaten by the chemicals in concrete....

go out about mid winter and put the charger on it, say around jan, or feb.

there are storage trickle chargers you can get but realy, do ya want to go that far?

newer batties should hold up ok doing nothing... but why chance it? I did last year and no problems...[crazy] One out side in the shed and one inside on the front porch, both cold places.... I have two....
