Hoppers on the Green
#1
It ain't over yet. Floated the Green below the Gorge today by myself, and caught fish all the way down the river on a foam hopper. The fish are still eating them, and there was no sign of blue-wings or any other hatches, even during the cloudy late-afternoon. Only saw a few risers all day, and those were midge-sippers in the scum holes. The fish took the hoppers along the banks, and in slower riffles and tail-outs. Mostly browns. Might be the last chance for big bugs before the cold weather sets in.

Update: There were a few blue-wing olives on the water this afternoon, and some fish eating them in slower-moving areas, and alongside the banks where current pushed the bugs together. Hopper bite was still on too!
