Hunted BRBR on the opener and had a good time other than the rain. I topped my day off with a banded drake wigeon. I ended up with 4 mallards 2 wigeons and a pintail. The banded bird came from california and was banded in march of this year. What a way to start the year off.

The u.s. geological survey along with local F&G and clubs catch a release ducks and geese with numbered bands on their legs. The birds when either shot or witnessed call in the number. It is a way of tracking the migrating birds.
