[font "Arial"][size 3]We are well into the heart of the fall hunting season! Just a quick reminder that while 4-H encourages youth to get out hunt, and many of our 4-H volunteers are well equipped to help youth develop the values and skills of ethical hunting, HUNTING IS NOT AN APPROVED 4-H ACTIVITY. The national 4-H Shooting Sports Hunting and Wildlife curriculum provides many tools and activities to help young hunter conservationists develop and refine their skills, but does not include attempting to or actually harvesting game. Adults may choose to accompany youth on hunts, but they do so as private citizens and NOT as volunteers representing MSU/MSUE/CYFC/4-H. As such, adults and youth participating in hunts are not covered by MSU's liability insurance as they would be while participating in approved 4-H activities. [/size][/font]
