Tuesday is, in my opinion, the one holiday that EVERYONE should celebrate for the right reasons. Christmas has by most turned into a commercial frenzy. Halloween, Easter, and most of the others are celebrated for the fun factor. I would be very surprised if there were many people out there who know why they celebrate these holidays. I am not a religious man and we celebrate all of the holidays every year so I am no exception. But Vets Day is different. I come from a long line of brave people who have served in the Army and Marine Corps. And I have had my share of family and friends that did not make it. Most notably my little brother, Jason Richard Dixon USMC. I hope that whatever your feelings on the military either in wartime or peace, that you will take a moment on Tuesday and realize that you are allowed that opinion because of these men and women.
Having said that I am going to honor my brother as I do every Veterans Day by partaking in what was our favorite pastime. If anyone else is heading out I wish you luck
