For the last year or so all I have heard was that you have to try Pelican even if it was only one time. You will be blown away with the number and size of the Bluegills and the Bass. And I was.[
]I was in the basin for the weekend so I thought I would hit Pelican on Saturday. I fished from my float tube from 6:30 to 12:00. I started fishing with just a worm and caught about 25 gills and 25 bass. I swicthed to a plastic freakbait jig and just had a blast. I ended up catching 25 more bucketmouths with the freak in about 40 minutes. I caught 15 bass on 15 casts in less then 15 minutes. The gills ave 10" and the bass were around 12" with a few over 15. I talked with some guys that were having luck with plastic worms, small jigs and grubs and flies and plugs. The bugs were not bad and the water was flat until about 12 when I got off the water. It was a great day on the water except for the slow leak in my tube. Now I believe. [
