I am wondering if the hobble creek road is passable in a car to get to strawberry, and if so, how long of a drive is it? (in the summer, anyway)

It is passable by car during the summer, but if the gate is even still open now, it would require 4x4.
Takes probably 1 1/2 to 2 hours in summer. [signature]

I can do it in about 90 minutes if I don't get stuck behind too many pickups. If you don't have at least a little extra clearance it's going to easily take 2 hours plus. The shortest route I believe goes up along upper 6th water and above Strawberry tunnel then over the mountain to Strawberry. It isn't passable when wet and is a gamble for cars as it frequently gets rutted. I would strongly advise just drive around on pavement in a car or any other vehicle for that matter. I only drive that route when I'm stopping to fish in the middle of it and even then I find driving down to Spanish Fork Canyon and up Diamond Fork to be a better route.
