Wilma Wapiti
#1
Last night my wife mentioned that she and the kids were sick of fish. Would I please go pursue something else? Well, never let it be said that I am not the sensitive, supportive type of husband… So I packed up the 4-wheeler this morning and went to fill my cow tag. I hit the mountain at about 7 parked my butt at the top and at 8 Wilma Wapiti and her friends were kind enough to stand broadside at 200yds. So I took my pick and was able to take her cleanly in a singe shot. (I love that rifle) – Anyway, 3 hours later I had her all ready to go down the mountain without bones. A good and healthy cow. I am eating a rather pleasant sliver of liver as I write. So, the wife and kids are happy to have some red meat back on the menu and I had a great Saturday.

Days like this I feel sorry for my counterparts who live in the big city and have never experienced the simple pleasures…..

Nice job, way to get the job done! If you don't mind me asking, was that the Nebo unit? I know they were asking for heads with a little spine to test for CWD-or did you keep it for another unit with similar requests-or to keep the "proof of sex?" Curiosity...thanks

That is the Kamas 526 Unit, I am not aware of any such requests, I just like heads..... Ok, not really.... I shoot then I tag, so the head had my tag on it. I decided to bone out the meat after realizing she was bigger than she looked through the scope. I kept the head just for the tag, I will have to peek and see if a request for pieces parts in place... thanks for the heads up....

Actually all you have to do is leave a tit attached to one of the quarters, no need to pack the head if you don't need to.
