Sunday @ Boulder Beach
#1
Me and my buddie hit the water in the faithful Sea Ray @ 6 am Sunday morning at Boulder Harbor. First trip since the weather got cold and was anxious to do some trolling with the recent trout plants I figured I should do well. Started with my $20 Castaic rainbow trout colored lure and after trolling from Boulder harbor to Hemenway I made the u-turn and started trolling back toward Boulder harbor. I was almost there when my poll finally went down. I grabbed it and started reeling. A few minutes later I pulled in a healthy 4lb 5 oz striper. Post operation yielded she was a pregnat female with well developed eggs. That was around 8 am when I finally caught fish number one. And though it was a beautiful day on the lake it ended up being the only fish. We fished until dark and it started to rain so we headed back. We did fish crawdad cove for about an hour with no luck. We went to B4 cove and I had not been there since last winter and was surprised to see that it is closed to boats. I knew that they did not stock trout there anymore but did not realize you could not fish there at all. No one was even on the shore so I assume the road is closed due to the construction of a new water intake system. I think I will head to Willow Beach next and try there as well as Placer cove and Aztec wash in a couple weeks. Hopefully I will do better...Peace[fishin]

Is that whats going on down there? B-5, it's in the Saddle Cove area, right?

That doesn't seem like a very good spot for a new intake... Seems like the type of area that could dry up in a few years...
