So has anyone been out on Pineview in the last few days. I am wondering what the ice is like and wondering if the last few warm days have hurt the conditions...
I need to get into some Crappie!
Thanks

We fished the Pineview narrows this morning. Ice was around 4 inches. It deteriorated later in the day and was fracturing due to the wind. But not too bad overall. Might be a some slop in the morning if it doesn't freeze. My buddy outfished me pretty bad today! I just don't have his patience! We caught over 50 perch between us and he caught about a dozen crappie. Magic depth seemed to be around 40 feet. Use tiny glow jigs like Rat Finkees tipped with waxies. Perch eyeballs on the same jigs did well too for the perch. The gators and the weather fronts seem to put a damper on the bite. Ran into Lunkerhunter and Richy today. Richy and his pal caught a nice bunch of perch. Lunkerhunter was just getting into some crappie as we were leaving.
