:HELP!!!
#1
my name is josh and I live in anchorage alaska. I've been here for two years. I've been trying to learn more info about the fresh water cod...burbot. I don't know much about em, and any help would be great. The only way I have found to catch them is sight fishing in july. Everyone tells me that I'm full of it but that's what I do. Anyway any advice greatly appreciated and I'm on a blackberry so if all possible feel free to call me. 405-640-2217. Fishing w/a sore shoulder haftafish..jt

Your in luck Josh.
Welcome to the site.

All you need to do is to sign up for the Burbot Bash at the top of the page. The bash is next weekend out at Lost Dog on Flaming Gorge. There will be as many as 50 guys there, all fishing for Burbot.
That would be the place to go to find out how to catch them.

Now if you have a way to catch them in the summer we would like to learn that from you. Burbot are invasive and we have concerns that their recent introduction to FG may disrupt the fantastic Lake Trout fishery we have out there.
