Deer Creek Help

I am thinking of taking my boys out to fish deer creek and am wondering if anyone has been there lately? if so anyone care to clue me in on a good spot, bait, etc.? this will be a first for them and i want them to succeed.

Fished on the NW side of the island for a couple of hours Saturday afternoon. 28" deep. Schools of fish would come through about every 20 minutes and we would get bites and catch a couple. White jigs with a small piece of worm. Fish were 12" to 15". Others seemed to be having similar success.

Fished the south side of the island Sat. and did not catch anything. One nibble all day. the guy next to me caught 5 in 5-15' of water.
