Spyware everywhere
#1
Is anybody else having trouble with spyware on the site? Practically every time I load, whether it's the first time coming in, reading a post, clicking 'back' after I finish reading the post... I have been getting 3 or 4 popups from my anti-junk program.

I still say it'd be nice to have the option of a paid membership to get rid of all the ads, too.

Not sure if you are using it or not, but Internet Exploder is bad for spyware. Use something else and you won't have that problem.

I hate Internet Exploder... in fact, when I got this new computer a couple months ago, I actually asked the tech guy if he'd take it off for me! (a'course he didn't, it's a Windows thing, and I gotta keep it for some weird reason).
I use Mozilla Firefox.

Never had a problem with it, until the last couple of days. Maybe First Light Net or Predatorial Advertising Associates, or whatever company owns the site did something new, and will fix it eventually.

Try one of the adblock firefox extensions:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=adblock&cat=all

I use adblock and it works great. I don't see a single ad here or on most other sites as well.

Try Mozilla it has a pop-up blocker feature on it. Mozilla seems to be faster than Internet Explorer.[fishin]

If you dont mind me asking what spyware program are you using ? Not all spyware programs are crated equal some will trigger alerts if a cookie is stored on your computer. This site and allot fo sites uses a cookies to store login info but is not real spyware or malware. Id suggest 1. like metioned eailier use firfox & 2. try adaware or spybot for spyware protection.

Also uses a good firewall, a good firewall to alert you if there a outbound transmission and ask if you want to allow it. Normally spayware wil send a outbound transmission to send data but your firewall should block it before it sends.

I'm using PC-cillan/Trend Micro, which I paid $60 for. The box said it took care of everything...firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, all that good junk. At least I know it's workin'!
