Any Open water in Central Utah???
#1
I am anxious to try out my new float tube that I just bought along with my micro-fleece sweat pants for my waders. It's still in the box and I want to check em out this weekend.

So guys, are there any ice-free ponds or lakes around? I'm wondering about the Salem pond or those ponds in Nephi...

The first state park at deer creek coming from the provo canyon side has open water. Salem pond is always a good place to try things out!

You could go to the Provo harbor. There is always open water on the outside where the Provo River enters, and even the river itself there is very slow and deep and can be floated with a tube. I've done it there in Feb. before when the icecap was one to try out my new tube (this was in 2001 I believe).

I'll agree with fuzzy Redmond is hands down your best bet. Caught alot of nice fish there in the winter from the aluminium.
