float tube set up question
#1
[ul][li]ok I use a pontoon and a guy at work gave me a float tube that I am going to let friends use to go with me.

My question is...on the tube is a long stem. Is that normal and do you blow it up first and try to zip it up leaving that inside or let that hang out? I am laid off and won't see the guy for a while so I thought I'd see what you all had to say.

oh yeah I forgot to put it's a Bucks Bags "buckaroo"[/li][li]round tube.[/li][li][/li][li]Thanks B

That's probably a truck innertube and it sticks out but shouldn't get in your way. Put it in first and then blow it up to 5 pounds pressure. By the way I used to loan a crappy round tube to my friends that wanted to try to go with me. They just bellyached that I was faster and could catch more fish because blah blah blah. I bought some loaner pontoons but now they borrowed them and never returned them. At least I don't have to store them anymore... Never see those guys anymore.

[laugh]GREAT. thats what I have to look forward to?
One gripe and I'll shoot their tube with a pellet gun!

So the stem will stick out where the zipper ends right?

The brass air tube attached to a truck inner usually has a 90 degree bend about 2" from the tube.
If there is none, you can make a bend with two pairs of visegrips, or better, a bench vise and a visegrips.
While deflated it's not tight and you can twist/rotate the brass tube so it comes out of the bladder towards you (where you will sit) then turns along the zipper line of the tube cover.
The zipper overlaps for a bit, and the brass airtube lies in that spot.

Hope this is clear enough.
