Fishing log book
#1
Has anyone made a fishing log spreadsheet in xcel?

I was going to try and make one but thought I'd ask if someone else has done it already so I don't re-create the wheel.

Thanks,

I've been keeping one for around 5 yrs now, maybe the best thing I have ever done to improve my success. I like the list presented by the last reply, I've got a bunch of those, but may add a couple more to my logs. One thing I've noticed, the more detailed you can get the better, its hard to remember what worked last month let alone 3 or 4 years ago.

I just typed up an excel spreadsheet if anyone wants it I'll send it to them. Most of the information in the top columns, then you can go down the page as time and conditions change and update things like weather etc etc. May not be the best but it's the best I could do in the 5 minutes it took me to make it.

[#0000bf]I've started a log this year, and I hope I have the same story to tell as you one day. [Smile] Would you (and the question is open to anyone) please be willing to share HOW your log has improved your success so much?

Is some info more important than others? I'm still trying to discern how complex to make mine - because sometimes with added complexity, it makes the results more vague.

THANKS!! [cool]

Here is the log I came up with. Seems basic enough to me. I'm going with a categorization by lake or resevoir fished. As conditions change you can move down the sheet with changes and times they changed. One sheet may last you one trip or four depending on how in depth you get with your information. I'm guessing one sheet will last me about one trip. I'm going to keep them all in a binder by resevoir so I can see where I fished and what worked or didn't work under the previous conditions noted. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. I would have liked to put more info on here but ran out of room. The notes section seems to have taken up a bigger part of the missing info. I didn't want to make another row because I wanted to be able to move down the sheet as conditions change which can be every 15 minutes here ha ha. Any other suggestions are welcome

Thanks for your help,
