Decided to try our luck at Pineview...found the Port Ramp was still accessible but snowpacked put the ole Durango in 4WD and parked in the small parking area. [cool] Large parking lot is not plowed at all...
Treked down the ramp out about 250 yards 40' of water immediately picked up fish on the sonar but after 2 hours and not a bite...decided to move due east towards Browning Point. We were about 200 yards out from the rock pile in 37' of water... []
Punched the holes and again picked up fish on the sonar and this time it was fish on and these by far are the biggest Perch we've ever caught at Pineview 9.5 to 11.5" and boy were they big and fat. [cool]
Dubob and Troll stopped by for a visit also...nice to see BFTr's out on Pineveiw and it was a fantastic day.
Temp on arrival was 9* departure 25*...
Ice conditions are great close approximately 15" of ice...snow depth on ice was 6-8" and we'd find snowmobile tracks to walk in making walking and pulling the sleds a little easier. [sly]
Lures used were Atomic Ants, Neon Glow Moon, and Stingers all tipped with waxie.
Perch were right on the bottom...dropped the lure down watch the sonar bring lure up just above the fishies and you had to jig, jig and jig to entice the bite again dead sticking only got one hit...the bite was very soft and a 'spring bobber' is a must. Didn't catch any Crappie...
On the way back up the loonnnnnnnnngggggggg ramp...saw a small black car at the top...when we finally made it up the ramp come to find out a family from Nashville TN got their small rental car stuck. Used our trusty/safety 25' 1/2" thick 'hemp' rope to pull them out. They couldn't tell us enough how thankful they were including what a beautiful state Utah is. []
So we did our good deed for the day plus had great time on Pineview...by far this was the best ice fish'n experience we've ever had at Pineview and we brought home 19 nice size Perch. []
So here's Pineview Friday the 13th fish Porn...
