Dan,
Cape Cod waters for me...down along the Elizabeth Islands...bouncing off the rocks (cuz the stripers like those rocks, like to hang out there), tossing, plugs, live eels, jigs, plastics (sluggos, Fin-S, etc)...stripers, blues, bonito, false albacore, tautog, fluke...whatever's around...Late April to mid-November, then go home...read about fishing, buy new gear...haunt the forums...look out the window & wish the snow was gone...start getting itchy again in March...

Jerry Vovcsko
Moderator: Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island Forums
Hi Dan
We live in Sierra Vista in southeastern Arizona. We keep the boat in San Carlos Mexico and do our fishing from there.
We fish for mahi-mahi (Dorado in Espanol), striped, blue and black marlin, sailfish and YFT which have been durn scarce lately.
The "platform" is a 1990 Tiara 2700 Open with twin MerCruiser 350s. She's got an integrated GPS/fishfinder, SOS outriggers, custom arch with rocket launchers, bait well on outside of the transom etc. See http://www.sancarlosmexico.com for photos and info.
Started as a sport but the more involved I get with http://www.starlures.com the more it starts to feel like business. We've fished three tournaments with this boat and have yet to finish out of the money, er... trophies.
We run all 50# equipment. Two Calstar MH with Shimano LRS50 on the flats at the transom and a mixed bag of Penn and Shimano rods and reels on the riggers. Also run a whiskey pull on a long rod off the radar arch and run it waaaay back. Favorite and most productive lures are Stars (naturally), Pakulas, Kona Clones and a couple of custom jobs.
Normally fish with family and friends and also like to mix in a bit of scuba diving and margarita crusin.

Bart Waldo
Vista Communications
