Are you targeting a specific species? Or are you just gonna cast out and see what bites?

There are no rules that the fish follow. I have caught
Bass on Trout lures and Trout on Bass lures.
There are some standards that we follow as a guideline for better success. You can do a search on Cabelas or BPS and enter, "Bass lures" "Trout Lures" or whatever species that you plan to target.
I should give you a general purpose answer to your question.[cool]

Hey Steve,
What about a board under Freshwater that is just titled "Lures and fish they catch" and people reply with what they have caught on them. Could be a fun project. Users could also add lures at will?
We could do a sticky post outlining a quick how to use the board? Let me know your thoughts? If you like it I'll set it up.

That sounds like a good idea. I can eyeball them with another team member as well if you would like.
We should do a fresh and saltwater version.
I will be glad to help with both of them if you need.[cool]

Sho nufff. haha.
I'm ready when you are.[cool]
I have a huge circuit that we fish now. Endless cycle and grateful for the new electronic passport. It saves me from carrying around a passport that is thicker than a Bible. It is bad enough trying to keep track of all the fishing licenses hahah.[laugh]

i never made my own lures but i have modifyed existing lures for one the hula popper i took some sand paper and sanded the crap out of it to make it skinyer also sanded down the bottom edge of the front a tiny bit it made it sit higher in the water and creates a diff disturbance of the water and it seems to help if the normal hula popper aint workin i just break out that one oh also i re painted it [bobhappy] of course. another thing i havent tryed yet but was told about is puttin fethers on the back hook of a crank bait using white on the inside and dark on the outside suppose to work great for a reaction strick while suspending the lure
lmfao i can go on i got a few other mods i do / want to try but really not much about makin my own

ya that's cool but the thing about making your own lures is it's usually cheaper (which is good cuz in lake eerie i end up losing most of mine!) and it's a fun hobby. plus a lot of times your limited to certain makes and models, colors, sizes, etc. where as if u make your own u can do what ever you want. P.S. the color chartreuse (lol idk if that's right) is the best for lures in murky water.
