Willard 6-4 (report)
#1
Hit Willard tonight, man the wind is starting to get to me. We ended up waiting till sundown to put the boat in, as the waves were white capping like a monkey on crack. The wind died down a little after sunset, and we started catching fish. We started catching fish almost immediately. We were out in open water, west and south of the feed lot, in 10-13 feet of water. The lure that worked best tonight was a blue and silver shad rap trolled 120 feet behind the boat. We ended up boating 7 wipers in about 45 minutes, missed 3 or 4 more, and then the wind picked back up and the bite stopped. We trolled around for another hour or so, but didn't boat any more fish. Others we talked to said the bite stopped for them as well when the wind was blowing. Not a bad night of fishing, just not the best night to be boating. Maybe next time I'll find me a weather man to use as chum! [Wink]
