Jerry, upper G, clam, 3-6-09, Jake

I fished below Nickajack Dam today (sunny, 70 degrees, not!!!). I trolled a blue/yellow Hot-N-Tot (among other things), a great lure for spots and sauger. But my quarry was the elusive clam so I went with the hot stuff. I caught a good clam, measuring at least 7 inches across (a TARP I assume). I also caught a 17 inch spot that weighed 3.1 pounds and several other smaller bass including a 16 1/2 inch smallmouth. What a day. You could catch many fishermen, as they were all over the place (thanks to the weatherman). But fish and baitfish were harder to find. The water temperature was 48 degree.
