Jordan River tips and techs
#1
Hey all FB2 here, I just got done fishing the jordan river with my 4 year old nephew. I managed to long line release a nice largemouth, got him to the shore and he decided the water looked more appealing and spit the hook. I caught him on a small yellow and black shard rap. My nephew was throwing worms and bread dough under a bobber, he got a few bites, but being 4 failed to set the hook properly and did not get any fish on. He did however decide that it would be fun to fall in the river. ended our fishing excursion on the 4th hole. oh well though, next time I go will most likely be without him.
After fishing for about 3 hours and only getting one real hook up I am turning to you fellow BFTers. I need some tips on catching fish out of the jordan river. I recently moved to the salt lake vally and that is the closest body of water. I mostly will be fishing around 7200 south area of the river. What are some of the best methods and places to catch fish? Thanks in advance for any tips or techniques you can toss my way.

I feel that you will do well with some gang hooks and 2" grubs in white and yellow. Got allot of bass out like that. Let me know.

hey fishboy if your going after bass you want to fish the south side of the river by the pump house or by the plane parking lot. i went their on thursday and a good old worm worked the best i caught alot of carp and suckers great catfish bait!!! then on your second pole throw a curly tail jig and you can catch white bass largmouth and walleyes. also try a small jig tipped with a wax worm under a small bober for crapie and bluegills.

hey thanks for the advise. I will definatley be takin two poles out there next time. I am restricted to area because I dont drive, so anywhere between like 7200 south and 10600 or even a bit more south is within reach, anything past thats a bit far for my ol pedalin' legs

I've always just used worms on the Jordan River. no bubble. Just bouncing it along the bottom. I enjoy the river between 11400 S. and 12600 S. I have never caught a bass on that river, but I have caught lots of suckers, carp, 2 rainbows (one was 17"), and an 8 lb. Catfish.

I enjoy taking my boys down there because they can catch fish easy. Not sure if this helps at all, but that's how I have done it in the past. I've never been skunked.
