Season Boat Passes
#1
Its good to finally get back on here. It has been quite some time since I have done anything on here.

Well now I have reason to again. Just purchased a new boat and need some info.

What type of season passes are there for boats? I dont like the every toime paying thing, it gets spendy. I know utah has a parks pass, but thats all I know.

So whats out there and for how much?

Any info is appreciated.

Thanks,

The state parks pass is the best deal. It gets you in as a day pass payee to almost all state parks. That includes launching, parking and picnicing.
The problem with UT is that there are a couple of diferent governing bodies that operate launch and camping facilities that we use.
You need a national forest permit for Pineview, it may be forest specific so it would be no good at fish lake, I don't know. Then there is UT lake.

There are no passes that pertain just to boats. The yearly state park pass is i think $75. you can get 5 off by showing fish licence or a coupon you get from the movies. This pass is awsome if you use the state parks alot.it covers all day use fees including launching of boats.the pass is great because you will not get hassled
if tyhere is a line of people waiting to get in the park
usually they wave me right past all that at jordy or east canyon.some other parks are utah lake, rockport,East can,Jordanelle,Deer Creek to name some in my area. Also you can just drive in for a minute and dump trash, holding tanks, take a shower stay a few minutes or all day and noone will bother you.one more thing is you can also get into the historic sites along the way like fremont indian and not hav to pay.the pass is great but you hav to use it to get your money worth.the only down side is strawberry is not a state park but its only 5.$ to launch.Flaming gorge is also not a state park so depending were you live, how often you boat, and the parks location are all factors. If you go nto straw or gorge then maybee the pass not for you.savy

[#800000]For Federal areas (Pineview, Strawberry) there are Interagency Recreation Passes (Annual, Senior, & Access) available that cover SOME fees, but not all. They do not cover overnight camping, developed boat launches and swimming sites, specialized interpretive services or concessionaire services. Interagency Annual Passes and Interagency Volunteer Passes do NOT include fees related to facility or equipment rental (cabins, lookouts, day/overnight group sites), special conservation programs, managed OHV areas, transportation systems, reservation services, or permits of any kind. My Access Pass doesn’t get me squat at the concessionaire managed Pineview or Strawberry. I would have to buy one of the concessionaire issued local passes which would be good ONLY for that body of water. That’s one reason I don’t do Pineview or Strawberry in the summer time.[/#800000]

You can also save a few bucks if you are camping and have a state parks pass.

Yes, but American Fork and Lindon Harbor will not take the state parks pass. As far as I know it is still free to launch at Lincoln beach.
