Strike report 4-16

Here is the good news-crappie are still hitting well! Here is the bad news-I'm not very smart [shocked]! Should have taken the empty parking lot at the ramp as the sign that it was-don't go out, TOO WINDY! wasn't too bad around 8 am so we went out anyway. about 8:30 am (after catching 10-15 crappie []) I realized it was a bad choice. Had to get off the water, tied up to the dock at the campground, got a ride to my truck (thank you camp host!) and went back this afternnon after it calmed down. Boat is ok, fishermen wet but not floating, going back ASAP!


BTW-today red/white was definately the color to be using

Glad you are O.K.!!! One thing is for sure--as bad as it might be on C.J., it probably will get worse! We went over two weeks ago, and couldn't decide what to do, until we watched a couple of boats struggling on the Air Force ramp. One guy had a jet, and he couldn't get back to the dock to pick up his wife without 10 minutes of struggling. (Maybe he just wasn't too motivated to pick her up!!). One thing is for sure, those crappie aren't going anywhere. Should be good fishing all summer. Mike

Thanks for the update. How would the fishing from the bank be this time of year? We don't want to haul the boat that far for one day this weekend, but we do need to go to Mtn Home and might as well get some fishing done while that close. Where would be a good place from the bank?

Kodiak1-I actually do know that about Strike, had a buddy with me that I wanted to get on some fish-bad decision that turned out ok, I'm gonna quit pushing it someday...........


Mudsucker-I am not the right person to ask, I'm kinda "anti-bank fishing", I have been finding them out where you can't get them from shore. There were a couple guys fishing by Black Sands that were catching a few fish. Maybe someone else can give you some bank tips.......
