My sweet wife, Coco, and my trusty fishing companion, Jake, joined me this morning for 3 hours of trolling crankbaits for crappie. At this time of year crappie like 1/4 ounce Bomber A and Deep Wee R deep diving lures and I like fire tiger and silver blue back colors. So, we hit it off well today. We caught 15 white crappie and all were keepers. Nine were over 12 inches and two were TARP at 14 1/8 and 14 1/2 inches. They were on the creek edges in 14 to 20 feet of water. The water temperature was 69-70 degrees. It was a beautiful morning out fishing with my two special friends and we ended by taking a long boat ride.
