Deer Creek 4/28 Walzburg Bay
#1
Couldn't sleep at all Monday night, so when 5 am Tuesday came around and I was still awake, I decided that I might as well go out and fish. Headed up to Deer Creek, decided to try Walzburg Bay again. Got there at around 6:15ish. Had my line in the water by 6:30ish. Orange powerbait on one pole and throwing a Kastmaster with the other. Got a 15 incher at around 7 am, never got anything on the kastmaster or the Jakes I ended up switching to.

Lake is pretty full, there is no shore left on the west side of walzburg, you'd have to go to the east side for a comfortable spot.

No boats in the bay while I was there. Only saw a couple of retired fellows from Spanish Fork that came by at around 8ish as I was leaving.

Only one pic sorry, should have taken more.

I NEVER do well in Walsburg. I have caught fish everywhere else in that lake semi-consistently but I have never done well inside Wallsburg bay. Just thought I would share my observations with you.

This is my first trout ever out of there, caught some small largies there last summer, and a buddy caught a small mouth that was about 12 1/2 inches back when the lake was really low, but other than that I share your luck with Walzburg.

I second this. I catch fat 15-18" rainbows out of Deer Creek more consistantly than any other lake I go to. But, the Walsburg arm has rarely produced anything but skunks for me.

Where do you usually go? I'm thinking of trying rainbow bay next.
