Heya you! you are asking good questions here. Did you see my Shell Cracker post?

At a local pond here we only catch these huge shell cracker bream right before a heavy rain or during a rain. My buddy Jimmy and I keep rain pancho's just for this occasion.

Now If a front is moving in and it's about to rain the catfish here in NE Arkansas turn on like mad! The Shell cracker Bream also turn on at one of my favorite local ponds, Image below from day before yesterday while it was raining and thunderstorm...

crickets...

about 2 foot deep ... we fish that pond all the time and never catch those shell crackers unless the front is coming or its raining...

sometimes fishing in the rain is worth it...

and the big blue cats at payneway only hit during a front and rain too...

A friend last year got a 69lb blue cat during rain.

if you want to come down and fish with me just let me know we can hook you up with a sleeping spot at my moms or jimmies dads farm house...

hook you up with some big uns...

in the summer when it is hot i think the oxgen lvls get lower in resivores as many of them dont get any or much new water, rain seems to bring the fish back to life in my view.

i know that when trout fishing you want to be there when it first starts raining and the river just starts to get stained..thats when all the trout come out to feed..if you try it the next day you wont get nothing..you gotto catch it on the rise..

I was always told that some of the best fishing is during a light to moderate rain. They say the fish head toward the surface thinking the rain will make insects fall to the water and they figure it's feeding time. Now if it so happens that they hit your bait before an insect, then TooShay!
