BeeBasser, Carters Lake, Bass & Whatever Hits, 05/09/2009, Step Son-in-Law,Jammie
#1
My Grandaughter's Step Dad (step son-in law,Jammie) and I fished Carter's lake yesterday. We were on the water by 8:30am. We started throwing crank baits on the points without any luck. Around 10:00, we were still skunked and I found a purple/chartuse crankbait floating on the water. I've heard that it is good luck to find and use a bait someone has lost. I'm not superstitious, but I tied it on and on my second cast I caught a 12lb. catfish. I've the picture to prove it. I threw that bait a couple more hours and caught two good spots on it. (no Picture).

It was a slow day, we only caught the catfish and a total of seven spots. The largest @ 2.5lbs. We talked to some local fishermen who said that the dam would start generating between 4pm and 6pm and then there would be some current across the points. Before 4pm We had only caught the catfish and 2 spots, after 4pm, I caught 5 spots. We pulled out for the long drive back to LaFayette @ 6pm.

It was a great day on a beautiful Lake with a good friend. God Is Good !!!!
