At Port Ramp, yes. Ten big ones. Not sure on the cost on the cemetery launch, however.

i think i have asked this before but cant recall. is PV a "private" lake? also, if i wanted to slip my toon or tube into the narrows would i be charged for that? 90 something days until i get to UT, just want to get the ball rolling and know before i go.

[cool][#0000ff]Pineview is not a state park or private lake. However there is a private yacht club (float tubes not allowed) and the Port Ramp and Cemetery Point ramps charge a $10 fee to launch...anything.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Once you learn the perimeter of the lake you will find a lot of spots you can dunk your inflated dinghy with no fees. I know several and would be happy to give you a guided drive around the lake and sample a couple of spots with ya. Unfortunately (or fortunately), most tube access spots require a bit of a trudge to get to the water. [/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]At the narrows (below the caretakers' buildings) there is a steep rocky trail to navigate, but the fishing is usually worth the effort. I have built a couple of different "tube carts" to get my gear up and down those trails and it ain't bad. (see pics)[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Also, here is a new labeled map of Pineview I just finished.[/#0000ff]

Pineview is managed by the forest service. They have cotracted the boat ramps out to private individuals to manage. Some of the areas around pine view are private but there are alot of areas that are open for the public. gshorthair

There is also one real good one just before the Cemetary Point gate that is a nice beach. Depending on the water level any where form maybe 200 is feet to 500 feet from the parking.

It is a darn shame that is costs' so much to launch there. In the harsh time we're in (recession) right now you would think they would lower the price so we can go out and do the things we love to do. Hard enough for some people to fill up their trucks/boats and get out there just to get slapped with another $10!!! $110 for a season tag? For one lake? The State Park Pass is cheaper than that for 40+ places, doesnt make sense to me!!! Pineview is a great fishing destination, but for $10 a day and having to put up with the water skiiers/wake boarders...............not worth it to me!!!!

[cool][#0000ff]You are right about the economy, but I doubt that enters into the thinking (lousy) of those in charge of the launch facilities on Pineview. They have always been pretty casual about whether or not their policies and prices are fair to users. [/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]It will be interesting to see what their annual revenues are this year...not only because of the tighter money situation but because Willard Bay is now full again and will reclaim a lot of the power squadron lost to Pineview the last two years.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]The other factor is that the yuppies with the big wakeboard boats and other fancy craft are usually not much affected by the economy. It just means that daddy has to pay bigger credit card bills each month for their toys and gas.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]Don't look for any drastic drop in the launch fees at Pineview.[/#0000ff]
