My girlfriend and I launched from AF around 7 am. we took the kayak around to the AF inlet, saw a bunch of people, but no hook ups. after a couple hours of being blown around with no success, we tried the other side of the harbor, also with no success. I decided I had had enough of fighting the wind and waves, and we pulled in on the side of the harbor.
Thanks to some advice from a couple awesome guys, my girlfriend started laying into crappie and bluegill so fast that I had no time to do anything but throw her fish on the stringer. Made for a great day.
Also caught a mud cat, and we had a bunch of hookups with big channel cats that were broken off.
A big thanks to everyone here for your advice pre-trip. I will for sure be back on later this week in prep for this saturdays outing with the girl. Fishing has got her hooked!
