We too were at the famous lake on the opener. Dropped the boat in the water at 5:30am and the county boat dock was so jammed you could hardly see ground![shocked] I knew there were going to be a lot of people but oh my....that was well over twice as many as I have ever seen in the 20+ yrs I've been fishing that place!! We headed for a little more "room to move" and found a bunch of fishing trying to spawn just west of the hatchery about 3-400 yrds. After landing 30-40 each we headed for open water to see if we could pick up any giants...no luck. We came back in around 1 and fished until 4pm. Threw egg patterns-even had two fish almost beach themselves trying to get at those eggs[cool]! Landed 2 around 5-6lbs, the rest were 18-20inchers. Even though it was fun, I almost felt guilty for bombarding those poor buggers. Again-I have never seen so many fisherman! When we headed back to the county dock we ended up waiting for one idiot after another....[mad][Image: angry.gif] !! There are too many people that have no idea what boating etiquette is or most likely don't care. We had dropped off a guy to back the boat trailer into the water and once in we still had boat after boat jumping in front of us...getting out of their boat to either get their own trailer or to do who knows what.... Anyway...too long already but I know I won't be back on the opener again. You may as well pay to fish a pay pond---same easy fishing without all the uneducated!!!

Exactly the reason that I put off going up there until mid week coming up. Hopefully the "yahoos" will have died down a bit by then[Wink]

You are right about the county boat dock. It was totally crazy. I think it is a matter of time until someone gets their eye put out by all the fly lines getting flung over the boats and the people.
