Silver lake road

any one know when the road to silver lake is going to open and has the duchman flat canyon gate been opened I want to go up and fish that little tributary by duchman flat mine tailings. allways fun to take kids and let them catch little trout by the dozen

[indent]There are two roads one that goes up to duchman flats and the other that goies to silverlake just out side of the campground. Monday I will be delivering bolders to the forest service at tibble fork res I will check when I am up there. I am also looking forward to takeing my 10 wheeler up tank canyon. with 3 loads of boulders.

If you are talking about the road to Silver Lake Flat Reservior then I would assume the road is open because the DWR stocking report shows that the lake was stocked.

The road to Silver Lake Flat Res. is open. Still a lot of snow on the upper section of the Silver Lake trail and the main creek crossing on the way up is a bit tricky for kids.

As of Monday May 25 Silver Lake was mostly frozen. See map for clarification:

Delevired Bolders today up af canyon and talked to ranger they said it was open. Thanks for all the info. P.S. if you are going up A.F. canyon the next week and see a pile of boulders on road turnouts please do not park in front of them It makes it hard for me to dump more bolders when I have to deal with cars parking too close to bolder piles. Thanks
