Is Gulp legal to use in UT
#1
I was just online checking into some regs when i cam across this on page 8 of the proclamation. Wouldn't that make Gulp and other similar soft plastics illegal?

I doubt that Gulp bait contains any fish or fish parts.

[cool][#0000ff]Gulp baits are legal and are widely used in Utah. The only places you cannot use them would be on waters designated artificials only. On those waters you cannot use any bait or any lures with artificial scent either added or a part of the lure.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]But, otherwise Gulp is great. Some of the most popular drop shotting lures are gulp minnows. And the crawlers work as well as the real thing for some walleye bottom bouncers.[/#0000ff]

I would be surprised if the scent is not artificial.

They are legal to use on any water that does not have an artificial only regulation. But if you are fishing where bait is prohibited, it doesn't matter whether Gulp is naturally or artificially scented, it is scented, and therefore illegal on all waters designated artificial only.

Thanks guys, I use Gulp quite a bit and when I noticed that, I thought it might be aimed at products like Gulp that work great. I thought I read that gulp was all natural, so I figured it might be made from what it's imitating.

Does anyone have an example of a bait or lure that would not be legal under that rule?
