Force Fins
#1
I just bought a pair of the adjustable Force Fins for float tubing, I got a great price on them by the way. My question is for the people on this board that use them, how far should your foot extend into the fin? I'm wearing waders with Hodgman Neoprene Wading Shoes (size 11). http://www.hodgman.com/dyn_prod.php?p=STRT181&k=76787

http://www.forcefin.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=FT&Category_Code=52&Product_Count=0

When I go ahead and put on the fins, should the top buckle be right in the middle? If in the middle, like they say in the instructional manual, then the back of foot(heel) is not making contact with the fins. They stick out a few inches, is that ok? Should my entire foot (shoe) be inside the fins? First time wearing fins.

Thanks.

No, your entire foot will NOT be in the fin. Just the ball of your foot. From arch back should be out of fin. Neoprene and buckle should be right on the highest part of your arch.
You can see mine here and I wear a Size 9 woman's boot.

Thanks flygoddess! I wasn't sure how they should fit. Now I see that I have them on right.[Smile]

Then I first got my force fins, I did all the adjustments
and then I cut off all the extra straps that are just kinda
hanging from the fins about 10 inches. Cut and heat
weld. Now nothing is just dangling in the water.
Just my 2c.

Love the fins. They sink. Lost one on a night trip. Swam in circles. Get some fin leashes! $70.00 for one replacement from factory inc. shipping.

I was at an auction a week ago that had a set of force fins. I bid up to 40 dollars and the guy got them for 42. They were brand new but I had no idea how much they cost. Why do they cost so much? Ron

Loosing a force fin, sucks for sure.Sorry about your
lost =).
Anyone that is not using fin leashes of some sort
is asking for it. Even a piece of rope or heavy
fishing line will do. Better be safe then sorry.
Just my 2c.

It looks very busy there (looking at your picture).
Is it always so busy? Weekday?

Holy Crap...is that TubeN2? That looks scary!!!
Looks like he is ready to loose a pontoon!
Thank Gawd that can't happen to me anymore[cool]

The only way I would give up my F.F. would be for Omega's, but I would have to try them first to make sure.[Wink]
