coming to town want to fish

i'll be in town (vegas) around the last week in july to visit my parents and do some fishing with my dad ... we're willing to drive 6-8 hours from vegas if we can get into some good fishing, my dad is primarily a bass fisherman and i'll fish for anything that swims. i was thinking the jordanelle in utah but am open to suggestions

lake mead or lake powell is the best suggestion it has alot of different species of fish.from chanel cats to strippers, crappie ,largemouth and there are alot of smallmouth so much the limit is 25 a day.but if u want to catch just bass quail creek resevoir in utah is the best.and all these places is less than 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive from vegas
