fished the TOC coaches tx this weekend and it was a great tourney..thanks to all the guys that put that on. friday was a big fish tx from 2-6. we tried some deeper fish first hoping to find them stacked up somewhere...that didnt happen.... then went and flipped for a couple of hours only catching a few 3lbers and less.... with the tx over shane and i though we would get him practiced up for sat with the worm and just went fishin for an hour so he could get the feel for the bite again... we fished worms on the main ledge and caught 2 4lbers and and a handful of 2lbers before deciding to call it a day...<br /><br />saturday...we started on top water with not many takers.... quickly... we switched to the big worm and started catching them fairly often.. we fished grass in 5-8ft and didnt take long to get a limit... we caught them pretty much all day but never could manage to find a group of big ones....we ended up with 3 fish that went 12lbs...(3 fish tx).... not bad for us... i was expecting us to catch around 13 to 13.5 lbs and knew we would have to have some luck to do much better. i had one fish that should have been close to six lbs but it was very very poor... paper thin with a couple of chunks of meat missing... it looked like it had been hit by a boat.... thats my luck... <br /><br />it was a great tx.... those guys do a great job and i look forward to fishing it next time... <br /><br />it took 18lbs to win with a handful of 16 and 17lb stringers.......i think we finished in 45 - 50th place out of around 150 boats or so...<br /><br />oh well, theres alwasy next time...<br /><br /><br /><br />i fished today with about the same results... caught about 30 fish... half being keepers... most around 3lbs... only had one over 4lb.. it came on a jig....<br />had several blow ups on spook jr..but not many takers... friend said they killed em on top sunday morning... once again, im a day late and a dollar short.<br /><br />
