Looking Fishing Spot?

I am new to this forum but not new to fishing. I would like to take my wife and two year old to the sierra's around North Lake Tahoe or the Donner area for some trout fishing. I am looking for a lake with a sandy beach so my daughter can play in the sand. I have a jeep so I can wheel if need be. I am planning this trip for next weekend so any help would be appreciated.
