Henry's Fork 7/5
#1
Headed out w/ some friends to float the Henry's fork yesterday. We started the day drifting from the Warm River/Henry's confluence to Ashton. Not a lot of action, but pretty scenery and several fish were caught. 3 were in the 16 inch range and fat. Most were small stocker size trout, both bows and browns. The afternoon saw us putting in at Ora bridge area and floating down to Chester. We did pretty well at Vernon, hooking into 5 that were very feisty. Only landed one though that was over 16". A similar one, possibly bigger, broke my line and the others all threw the hook. Spinners were the lure of choice. Flies got a few risers, but very few hits, and all were short. There was a drake hatch going on in the evening, but very few fish rising and none hitting the flies. Most the other fish caught throughout that stretch were small stocker size again.

Over all, a good day. Weather was very cooperative but that may have just added to the lethargy of the fish. Hopefully next time they'll be more excitable.
