Island Park Reservoir

Hey, i'm heading up to island park in august for a weekend, and i was wondering what kind of fish they have, what use, and etc. I also will have a canue. all help is very appreciated! Thanks[Wink].

They have mostly trout. Browns, cutts, bows. There are also kokes in there but I hear they're a little tougher to zero in on, but better sized than most kokes around this area. The trout likewise are very good size a lot of the time. Trolling is frequently the most popular, but the standard worm w/ marshmallow or corky is also popular. Beware the mosquitos I hear though. They're approaching mutant size and numbers this year.

Island Park in August can be tough depending on the water temps. Later in the fall I have trolled flies in my canoe back in the West End fingers and done pretty well. It has been a couple of years since I have been back there.
