DC metro

Hello yall, I m from San Diego, CA but I m here in Wash. DC since I m currently student at Gallaudet University. anyone from metro area and can give me some good spot for Large/Smallmouth Bass and where I can have my dog roam free while I fish? and also know any tournament I can join for $$??
