The wife and I spent last weekend at Seminoe and caught alot of walleye but they were small, none going over 15 inches. I didn't much care for the color of the water being a dark copper color and full of algae, but it was a new place for us. Did a little scouting for elk for our up comming archery hunt in Sept. encountered several Buzz Tails, not looking forward to having to deal with them on our hunt.

I hope to see you Sunday, are you really staying out for 12 days? Hope you dont get sick of me. HAHAHA. Now I just gotta go get some crawlers and make some new harnesses, mine are getting too much use out of them and I lost of a descent fish the other day because my line was getting frayed from catching so many fish...HA HA just kidding. I do need to tie a few up though.

Glad to be back (I think). Devils lake is a long way to drive for a fishing lesson. We didn't do well. But on the other hand we did weigh more than some of the big name guys did.
Tough lake, huge lake, and damned scary with all the trees sticking up.
Equipment failer ??? You know me Pete. I did have a flat on my new ford. Probablyt found the only nail between here and N.D. LOL and managed to bust a transducer off the bow mount on a log.. The Lowrance support trailer just gave me a new one no questions asked.
Had to get home on some of my familar waters and build my confidence back up.
Cabelas tournaments are run like a fine tuned watch. I couldn't believe they got 200 and 70 some boats luanched and loaded with such efficentcy.
This Ranger is one A$$ kicken boat. Handles a 3 foot chop like a breeze.
Neat boat to fish out of.
I heard that Seminol was hard to find decent fish from some of my friends that fished the tourny last week.
Not one of my favorit lakes.

Did you find any elks?

Yeah Kelly (LOL). I plan on being there at least 10 days or untill I run out of crawlers...and I have about a 1000 of them. Thats about 10 days worth on a good bite ain't it []
My wife can't come up untill tues. so I'll have room in the boat for a couple of days.
Just look for a sparkly red 620 VS Ranger with a 250 hp Merc Verado on it and a happy guy with a big goofy grin on his face...you probaly found me. If all else fails look for a name on the motor [:p]

Didn't see any elk but it was early afternoon when we took a ride and was mainly looking over the country. Lots of good antelope bucks several in the 80 inch class, and a few mulies. I did talk to your better half when you were gone, didn't know if you still had a bow mount for sale or not. I thought my Maxum had gone to heck after 8 seasons of use, so I ordered a new one and while I was waiting for it I did find that the problem was in my wiring not in the ol Minn-Kota after all. I did go ahead and put the new one on my boat when it came as it has a little more thrust than the old one. I'll keep the old one as a backup. Hopefully I'll have as good of luck with the new Maxum. My fishing days are about over for the summer as the archery hunt in Utah is only a couple weeks away, then shortly afterward we are off to WY. on our elk hunt, then back to Utah for my CWMU buck hunt. Good luck at Starvation I had alot of fun there this summer.

Sorry to say but I had something come up and will be in Salt lake on Sunday and Mon and Tue but will be back on Wed, maybe we can still get together by then. I will call you on Wed.
