There will be a Utah Lake Fish Forum meeting on Aug 26th from 6-8 PM at the Central Region DWR office in Springville. The subject material of the meeting will be the Utah Lake food web analysis. Kevin Landom from Utah State will give the presentation. Some of the recent updates to the food web model include the predicted response of sportfish species to large scale carp removal and how the fish community may respond to alternative management scenarios
The food web analysis is some of the most interesting material that has come from the science conducted with the June sucker restoration program. It clearly shows why carp are so detrimental in UL. It also has a lot of implications, both good and bad for sport fish species as well. Hope to see interested parties there!
