Got to the water about 3:30 and tried the spoon on a shallow hump again. Very hot and water in the high 80s starting out. We really wore the stripes out on the spoons and caught some nice largemouths on topwater baits when they schooled up. I lost a good bass at the boat that would have been better than our best fish which was only about 3.5. The funny thing was that we seemed to have this whole area to ourselves. We would go to a certain depth and drift down through the fish. As the evening went on, one boat after another showed up on us and before we knew it there were SIX other boats all around us emoBang. So by now I just about have to stay in one little spot! I finally just trolled right through them and got on the outside edge of the area. At least two times, the minimum 50 yd rule was broken. What ticks me off is it seemed like this was the only spot on the whole freakin lake that had fish on it emoAngry. Anyway, we was a big rain coming down from CFP and we cut a trail. Fun evening, LOTS of fish and fun. Just wish those other guys went somewhere else!
