Hal and made it out this morning for our weekly fishing trip. Started at daylight and fished until 1:00 PM. We started off on schooling white bass. We landed 7. Only 1 on topwater and the rest on jigs. They didn't just didn't jump quite as well this morning as they did yesterday. So, we left early and looked for crappie.

We caught 46. The first stop, we caught a lot of little fish (under our 11" limit), left that spot and hit a dock to no avail. Hit another spot and caught a couple of nice keepers, then went back to our original spot and caught some really nice crappie this time through. The fish were deep and just on the edge of a point. During all this fishing, we also landed 2 largemouth bass and 2 spotted bass. I had another nice spotted bass leap about 3 feet out of the water and throw the jig back at me. emoBig On the way back to the ramp, we stopped at the community dock at Sequoia and Hal landed his turtle. Nothing else doing at that dock. It was time for us to quit anyway, so we didn't stay there but just a few minutes.

Most of our fish came on BG shads. I fished with crystal shad with the tail dipped in chartreuse. Hal caught a couple more on different colors. There was a stiff North wind early, that layed down around noon. Lots of current though. I learned a little bit more about one particular structure today. Lots of chiggers and destoyers out today. School starting back next week and the kids are getting in a last fling.
