We hit the lake early this morning to give the crappie a try. It was a nice ride but we were supprised to see so many fishermen out before sunup, emoSmile I guess everyone is like us and trying to beat the seadoo's and destroyers so we can have some peaceful fishing time,, emoTongue emoThumbsup
First dock that we visited didn't produce much with all the current that they were running so we moved on, emoScratch looking for the crappie. Ran into Gator and his buddy trying for crappie also today, emoSmile
Finally found a few that seemed to be a little hungry, (the bite was soooo suttle) and DK began to really show me up, emoScratch I can't catch as many as he can but it's not usually a 5 to 1 difference. We were using the same BG's and same color so I knew something was wrong, emoAngry Finally figured out the problem and solved that mystery then began to hold my own but DK alreaady had me down by about 15 or 20 fish by the time we figured out my problem, emoRolleyes It's still fun to watch him in action, emoSmile
We ended the day around 11:00 with 51 crappie, (about 60 % less than 10 inches) and 4 bass, with this good spot that DK is holding and only 1 'gill, emoThumbsup DK had 1 get off that was a real puller but we didn't think it was a crappie, probably a bass or drum. I thought it was gonna break DK's rod before it got off, emoConfused Wish we could have seen it, emoSmile All fish were returned to grow bigger,
A good day to be out on the water with temps in the 80's both air and water. Lot of current flow, don't know what they were pulling but seemed to be in the 40K's emoThumbsup
