My buddy decided to change our pattern and expose me to some new water and I agreed.

Nothing like trying new ideas and techniques ....and trying them in the wind emoEek

So we put in at Bennetts lake and started on the grass pattern. Why not? The river is loaded with grass flats and ledges going to the channel and we worked it with buzzbaits, frogs, and plastics. YB started us off as he usually does and I finally got a little one in the boat as well.

This was over after about 40 minutes and we moved. We headed to Mullins.

Where was the water? It was low in the cove and I got a bream on my pop'r and then the jumps made for a fun half hour of gettin' grabbed by some short bass and a little whitey.

I was tired of fighting the hang-ups and went to an unweighted worm ah yes, sweet potato pie worked some magic and I caught our poster boy, a 17 incher that was strong and fat!. My partner caught a few more on his secret color t-rig and then we noticed possible scary weather and banged back down the river and called it around noon. Total around 20 fish caught and released today

Another fun trip with my buddy YB and his great hospitality Thanks again for a great time!! emoThanks emoAngler
