thought i would try a new area out in the refuge( mistake_) fished there from 11 until one without a single touch on "real" baits.. a few dinkers on one of the lil rods...
so me and my buddies changed spots to one of the killler holes we have found recently.. fishing was Crap until 3:30 and i was like someone hit a switch.. landed 6 cats by 5..
one of the guys i took with me had never caught a decent cat before, so luckily i got him onto a lil 4lber..( see pic) he was stoked!!!
all in all not a bad night... wind then calm, then warm and cold, then rain and clear.. hahaha interesting evening... enjoy the pics [cool]
also one of the cats had a horrible infected looking wound on its side.. anyone know what this is ( last pic) or what could cause this?? it was nasty lookin

I've been told for the big big fish in there to use a throw net to catch fresh 6-9 inch minnows and fish them dead. FYI

we were down there sat nite whats the deal with the gate being closed I guessing you got in there before sundown? we fished the turn out just up from there and didnt catch a thing

Talked to game fish and parks about that. It is closing at sunset now do to someone vandalizing the equipment and building back there. And when your in there and it shuts you need to leave. On two different occassions ive seen game fish and parks go back there and run people out after sunset.

yea that spot right there where u were fishing can be productive early in the yr when the water is in the 50s and no one has touched it yet.... it gets fished alot. every time i go out there are people fishing there...... i have caught some good ones there though...
i wont fish any spot that gets fished often by others... infact the spots i fish dont see much line but mine [sly]
up river from there about 300yds there is a bend that is awsome from a boat... but there is absolutly no bank access there whatsoever. thats why we hiked out too see if we could get to it... didnt work[frown]
