About a month ago, I posted a suggestion that you consider fishing the Sekiu area for salmon this summer. I hope you took me up on my suggestion. We just got back, fishing it for 4 1/2 days. My wife and I limited each day--with a limit of 4 salmon each--and brought back 40 nice fish, mostly pinks with a few coho. We caught over 100 salmon, counting those released, and were usually back at the dock by 10:00 in the morning. Kings, blackmouth (resident kings / chinooks), coho, and lots of pinks. On the last morning before heading back, we caught and released 12 kings in a row, and never waited more than 5 minutes between fish! We fish with lightweight steelhead gear, so they are all fun! Now comes the work--lots of smoking. There are worse problems! Mike

That sure would be nice. I bought an acre in Homer AK a couple yrs back and still have'nt found the money or time to clear it and put a camp on it. All goes well I'm headed up in spring/summer 2010 to get started. Now that will be a nice getaway but still probably more costly than [shocked]Sekui

I'll tell you where I wouldn't mind a place at over there--Port Angeles or Sequim. You would only be an hour from Sekiu and, for that matter, the fishing isn't bad right off Ediz Hook in P.A. They hammered the halibut this winter and spring. The advantage is the weather in PA compared to Sekiu/Clallum Bay in the winter!! Mike
