Flaming Gorge Catch Report 9/2/09
#1
We hit the reservoir for a couple of hours yesterday and started off by targeting kokes uplake from Cedar Springs. We caught 3 kokes, 1 bow, and 1 laker, while trolling between 45-60 ft at about 2.0 mph. Two of the kokes were 18-19 inches. The hot set-up was a Rocky Mountain Tackle dodger followed by a Radical Glow Tube, both in watermelon. One fish came on a #2 Needlefish in pearl/red. Only one week left on the kokanee season at Flaming Gorge, which comes to an end on September 10th.

We graphed an active concentration of lakers near a steep cliff. Fish were suspended 10-20 ft over 90 ft. Before calling it a trip, we grabbed the jigging rods and quickly put 6 lakers (<20 in) in the livewell. Fish were caught on a 3/8 oz. glow jighead tipped with a Berkley Gulp minnow in Tennesee Shad. Some of the hits came on the drop, forcing us to quickly reel up some slack to get a hookset. Others only took light jigging.

Water temps were 66F. Hope it helps, Ryno
